4,749 students at SRM get placements

Chennai, September 17 (MExN): A record of 4,749 graduating students of 2020 batch were given offers by four major IT companies at the conclusion of the ‘Day One’ process at the SRM Institute of Science and Technology, breaching last year’s 3,020 offers for 2019 pass outs.

According to a press release, TCS (Ninja) has made 1,437 offers, Infosys 1,315, CTS 1,175 and Wipro 822. Apart from this, TCS has made 183 offers under ‘Digital Track’ (Rs 7 lakh per annum), said SRMIST Career Centre director Sriram Padmanabhan.

This year, the highest offer made on the campus was Rs 41.6 lakh per annum by Microsoft. More than 120 companies have visited the campus this year since the commencement of the placement season 22 July and have made close to 6,000 offers as on date, the release said.

Top recruiters this year include Amazon (18 offers of Rs 32 lakh per annum), Barclays (25 offers of Rs 10 lakh per annum) and startup Udaan (4 offers of Rs 30 lakh per annum. Besides, organizations like Veritas and Pay Pal  have made internship offers whereby selected students would work in the companies during the final semester with a good chance of bagging offers, the release added.

The centralised placement process organised at Kattankulathur campus, brings students from SRM campuses including Modinagar, Ramapuram and Vadapalani, said Sriram Padmanabhan.
