Wokha, November 19 (DIPR): The DAN government of Nagaland has launched its programme of Fodder & Feed seeds free distribution to life-stock farmers, in the recent Road Show at Wokha by the Chief Minister, Neiphiu Rio. The programme is being implemented through the Department of Veterinary and Animal Husbandry.
CM launches fodder & feed seeds free distribution  The free distribution of white oats and sorghum was repeated at Zunheboto Road Show by the Department concerned. According to the officer Incharge, this innovative programme of the government will not only ease the problems of fodder and feeds but will eventually boost production in life-stock in the State. The statistical figures have been indicating huge drains of economy to other States both on account of fodder and feed procurements and imports of life-stocks for consumption. Therefore, the sagacious policy of the Government to dam this outflow of resources, by enabling self production of fodder & feeds and life-stocks, may become a sustainable endeavor with mass participation of people. The economy of the State, the Gross Domestic Product (GDP), the Per Capita Income etc and above all self employment of the rural population, is envisioned to change.
A press release issued by the DIPR stated that the DAN Government, under Neiphiu Rio and his Council of Ministers backed by and implemented by capable bureaucrats and technocrats under the Chief Secretary and the Development Commissioner, have embarked upon yearly themes that have shown results. Today, the people of Nagaland are witnesses to the impacts of the ‘Year of Youth Empowerment’, ‘Year of Farmers’ and ‘Year of Capacity Building’. The ‘State Road Show’ despite certain criticisms have, bridged the divide between the Government and the people. The people have developed a feeling towards the Government as a ‘Government of the People’ a ‘Government with the People’ and a ‘Government for the People’, through these never before held events of the Road Shows.
