Progressive farmers training
Dimapur, August 10 (MExN): One day training programme for progressive farmers was held at Pfüchama village on August 10 organized by the Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Kohima. The programme was chaired by K. Michael Pienyü SMS (plant protection) where he also highlighted the KVK activities to enlighten about the first hand information technologies available for farmers’ benefit.
Imtisenla SMS (agronomy) delivered the topic on soyabean and rice bean production technology and also recommended bio-pesticide/organic product as a means for controlling pest and disease infestation. Kekhali SMS (Horticulture) as the second resource person spoke on the procedures and method of cultivating citrus, guava and tree tomato.
The third technical session was conducted by Keviyenuo Zhasa (Home science) where she demonstrated the preparation of making Jam by using Fig fruit and also the same procedure to be applied in case of plum, pine-apple etc, she also demonstrated the value addition in case of sponge gourd to its marketable product as scrubber. The programme ended with the vote of thanks being delivered by Lhouvi santsü (village chairman) on behalf of the participants.
