CAB Protest: Dimapur Police sets up Joint Control Room

Dimapur, December 12 (MExN):  In view of CAB related agitation in several districts of Assam, the Dimapur Police today set up a Joint Control Room to assist Dimapur/Nagaland-bound passengers stranded in various parts of Assam as well as passengers planning to travel to Dimapur in transit through Assam.

The Joint Control Room at the Commissioner of Police Office, Dimapur is headed by Naieem Mustafa, IPS, DCP Zone-I as Team Leader along with 5 others members. They are  Seyiesezo Peseyie, ACP ‘A’ Div, Dimapur; Inspr Abeio Kense, PR Dimapur; UBSI Joseph Zeliang, East PS; SI Wepetso Chekhesang, PR Dimapur; and  Chingkholam Kuki.

“Dimapur bound passenger or passenger in transit through Dimapur may contact the Joint Control Room No.7085055050 for any queries,” informed a circular from the Commissioner of Police, Dimapur.

Meanwhile,  Nagaland State Government on Thursday issued travel advisory for commuters in view of the prevailing situation, particularly in Assam, over the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill, 2019 and has established helpline for any Nagaland bound passenger stranded in Assam.

The advisory informed that the Home Department has established assigned designated officers and with their contact numbers to assist “any Nagaland bound passenger who is stranded in Guwahati at the Railway Station/bus terminus or other parts of Assam because of the ongoing CAB related agitation.”
