The Nagaland State Government on Thursday issued travel advisory for commuters in view of the prevailing situation, particularly in Assam, over the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill, 2019 and has established helpline for any Nagaland-bound passenger stranded in Assam.
“In view of the CAB related agitation in several districts of Assam, people from Nagaland are advised to avoid travelling through Assam for the time being,” stated an advisory issued by Abhijit Sinha, IAS, Home Commissioner, Nagaland on December 12.
Further, the advisory informed that the Home Department has established certain helpline to assist “any Nagaland bound passenger who is stranded in Guwahati at the Railway Station/bus terminus or other parts of Assam because of the ongoing CAB related agitation.”
