Dimapur Police makes seven arrests

Dimapur, January 26 (MExN): Dimapur police apprehended three persons for extortion and four with arms on separate incidents on January 25. 


As per a press release from Addl Dy Commissioner of Police/PRO, Dimapur, two persons were arrested with one .32 pistol (Country made) and one magazine from DDSC Stadium area near Hotel Rajvir. The accused were identified as Vikheho Sema and Boto Kiba. Accordingly, a case has been registered at West Police Station Dimapur.


In a separate incident, two persons were arrested with one .22 pistol (Country made) and one magazine from Amar Mill area in Ghorapatti area. The accused were identified as Kheto Sumi and Katoshe Yeptho. In this connection, a case has been registered at West Police Station, Dimapur.


In another incident, Dimapur Police apprehended one Vinato from Peace Camp, Dhansiripar area for collecting illegal tax from sand carrying trucks in the name of NSCN (IM). An amount of Rs 800 was recovered from his possession. A case has been registered at Sub-Urban (SBN) Police Station, Dimapur.


Another two extortionists were arrested from Padumpukhuri area opposite NRL Petrol Pump, Dimapur. The accused were illegally collecting yearly vehicle tax from truck drivers in the name of NSCN (U) at Rs 2000 per truck. On checking, cash amount of Rs 5200 were recovered from their possession. The accused were identified as Peter Khing and James Bukh, both Khapur of GPRN/NSCN. Accordingly, a case has been registered at East Police Station Dimapur.
