Dimapur fans to celebrate Bob Dylan’s 71st birthday
Tomorrow, millions of fans will celebrate iconic singer Bob Dylan’s 71st Birthday. People all over the world have big reasons to honor this amazing songwriter, musician and artist. His contribution to music is immeasurable and hailed by youths from America to the Northeast of India as an inspiration. And this year, Dimapur fans have made big plans to honor this living legend who will be celebrating his 71st birthday.
Borrowing one of Dylan’s popular anthems, the event is named “The Times They Are A-Changin”; and is being organized by Hiyo Entertainment in association with Spirit Underground. Artists participating in the event are Alobo Naga and The Band, Alo Wanth, Renbeni Odyou, Renee James Ezung, Syntyche Mongro and Kevin Pucho. While sister state Shillong has been regularly hosting the Lou Majaw-led Bob Dylan celebration, this one at Hiyo Café is perhaps the biggest one organized so far, and several fans from Dimapur have already signed up to be a part of this event.
Bob Dylan has had a profound impact on popular music & American culture. He is known not only for his music but as a human rights champion. It has also been reported that Bob Dylan will be receiving the Presidential Medal of Freedom, by President Barack Obama next week.
“The Times They Are A-Changin” will begin from 4:30 pm on May 24 at Hiyo Café, Aiko Building, Bank Colony Dimapur.
