In honour of Otsula Sakurenla Pongen

Otsula Sakurenla Pongen Otsula Sakurenla Pongen

A wrinkled face with hoary hair, toothless, bended low supported by a stick with wavering voice! It explains the feature of our grandmother- a lady so fair and serene whose age is 115 and still continues to live on with good physical strength.
In her mid life, she was revered for her vigorous labour and cleanliness was a hallmark which is why the local church allotted many guest houses at her home. According to her, in 1933 May 15th, Otsula, her husband along with some friends resolved to start “Merangba Sentep” (at present the youth ministry) and indeed that was a historical feat to her local church. She was one who had incredible strength to walk miles to speak in different women fellowship. Like a tree planted by the streams, an intense woman of faith in God, she did all she could to please God even by sponsoring one lady pastor in Pangsang Village for five years.
Another admirable persona she possesses is her sincere prayer by laying hands on us and would envisage future event in life. Today surrounded by her a whole bunch of 22 grand children and 34 great grand children; among them there are two pastors, we celebrate her profound prayer life and we are assured of God’s reward when her journey finally ends. May God who guided her thus far, continue to lead her life safely even beyond the sunset.
With love
Your children, grand children & great grant children.
