The Morung Express :: Nagaland News | Current News | Latest News | Breaking News: KBCS attains 100 years of Christianity KBCS attains 100 years of Christianity ================================================================================ morungexpress on February 12, 2012 07:57:00 The much awaited Centennial celebration, commemorating 100 years of Christianity among the Kukis of Nagaland and Baptist Church Sirhima in particular was celebrated with pomp and gaiety. The main event took place on February 6 and 7 with a theme “The Lord hath healed us” Exodus 15:26 in which Rev. T. Haulai and Rev Janglam Singson jointly opening the session with a symbolic beating of the great centenary drum. Thousands of people from every nook and corner of North East India gathered to witness God’s faithfulness and guidance over the last one hundred years. Indeed, it was also a great moment of honoring and remembering those pioneers who had sacrifice their lives for their faith and became a history builders ever, especially, to Late Pu Nguljahen Singson (1860-1930) who was the founding father of Sirhima Village and Church as well. It is known that he was under the benevolent care of unforgettable American Missionary Rev. Sidney Rivenburg under Kohima Mission field. Speaker from NBCC Rev Dr. Anjo Keikung, general secretary of NBCC gave a remarkable message on “Let the small also help the big one”. Rev Dr. Anjo Keikung was then taken by the cultural troops Sirhima and GBs of Kuki Community in a befitting traditional style towards the site where the monolith has to be unveiled. Amidst the sounding of gongs and the melodious voice of the centenary choirs the monolith was inaugurated and erected in memory of attaining one hundred years of Christianity. Other speakers were Rev. Keviyekielie Linyu, Executive Director ABCC, Rev. Vitoshe Swu Executive Secretary WSBAK, Rev. Kuzierang Thou, Executive Secretary ZBCC, Rev T. Hangsing Executive Secretary KCC Nagaland Synod and Rev. Minlien Singson, Executive Secretary KBA.
