Dept Praise & Prayer Festival
This is a first of its kind Praise festival that is ever organized by the Church with great vision that goes beyond the purview of the Church. Speaking to the Youth Director, KABA, Tiatoshi Longkumer said, “the Church had been praying for such occasion since last year, with an aim to reach out to the young people of all tribes and ages in Kohima town. That the basic idea of the festival is to invite young people to turn to God and also to rejoice in the Hope of His salvation.”
Concerned of the rumours that are spreading in and around Kohima, Longkumer said that many young people are mesmerized by the forces of Satanism and other evil forces which is dominating the talk of the city these few months and days.
He said the Church took such happenings as a challenge to counter the move of Satan and to testify that Jesus Christ will come out victorious over all unhealthy movements that are dragging the young people. That is why with much prayer we have deliberated among young people and later asked the Church to sponsor such event not only focusing inside the church but for the youngster outside the church so that the Church can move to the people where they are and not the other way round. He said the first day received a very positive response and expressed the hope that thousands will attend the day long festival tomorrow as it is also a holiday for most institutions.
The main Speakers of the events are Rev. Dr. Richard Howell, General Secretary, from the Evangelical Fellowship of India, EFI, New Delhi and Rev Bendangnukshi Longkumer, Secretary Christian Education Department of Evangelical Fellowship of India, North East In charge, Guwahati. Longkumer expects God’s power to overcome the hearts of the young people through their powerful teachings in the remaining two days.
Nothing runs smoothly without prayer and so the Church has organized a group of prayer warriors from among the parents, youth leaders who support the Department in prayers as the programme is going on. He said this is with the aim that the event will not be diverted towards a mere festival but it will be a spiritual festival, which is possible only through the power of prayer that we can move all these into the right direction. At the same time there are counseling centres running at the venue to help any young people who need counseling on any issue and needs a prayer.
The Youth Director invites all the young people of Kohima to be a part of the Praise and Prayer Festival at the Heritage, Officers Hill Kohima and to be blessed.
