TNL withdraws two resolutions

Dimapur, September 26 (MExN): The Tangkhul Naga Long today informed that the organization during its meeting on July 22, 2009 took a resolution to submit a memorandum to GK Pillai for sponsoring a two-day seminar at Ukhrul. The seminar was to discuss on an 11-point charter of demands and out of 11, two points were taken exception to. The two points, a note from the TNL stated today, namely Shiroi National Park and making Ukhrul ‘the Summer Capital of Manipur’, are likely to “invite unhealthy atmosphere from various corners.” For this, the TNL stated, its executives have reconsidered it and on September 21, 2009 has decided to withdraw the two points. “It is also resolved that though the remaining other nine points may be discussed in the seminar, the seminar be postponed for sometime,” it added.

I am glad to hear that TNL is withdrawing the self contradicting contentious proposal. Nonetheless, I am not happy with the language used here, "are likely to “invite unhealthy atmosphere from various corners.” TNL is doing this because the proposal has already drawn hundreds of responds questioning the rationale for such proposal. Is TNL testing the water - working with the motif to cash in if possible. This to me is too cheap a politics at least for the stature of TNL - sadly TNL has disappointed me and many others greatly.

It's going to be a welcoming steps and at the same it no use thinking again after a great damage is done.

Well, my advice to TNL and Tangkhul community as a whole is "Plz think 100 times before you take any step" because you have created many problems in the past as well as present.

Let us pray that Nagas will ONE forever.

Kuknalim.
