Two dead; one injured in shooting

Dimapur, February 7 (MExN):  Two persons are reported to have been killed in what police suspect to be a case of shooting involving rival underground cadres, at around 8: 45 PM at Elora Lane in Dimapur. Reports came in late night Tuesday that two persons identified by police sources as a Wanjai Konyak and one Abong Konyak died in a hospital, while a Nyamsai Konyak was injured after being shot by two unidentified persons. According to police, the three were emerging from a hotel called Hotel Kent at Elora Lane when two unidentified assailants opened fire on them.
At the time of filing this news report, Dimapur Police were suspecting the two deceased, the injured and the assailants to be from rival NSCN groups, although which they were from, was yet to be confirmed. According to police sources, the three checked-out from the hotel and a few minutes later shots were heard. Six 9mm shells were recovered from the spot, police said.
