PHED workers threaten with stir

Dimapur, February 13 (MExN): Work-charge employees of the department of Public Health Engineering have threatened with “non cooperation movement” and indefinite hunger strike if the State fails to regularize work-charge employees who have completed 15 years, and above, of service.
The All Nagaland Field Staff Association of the department lamented that the work-charge employees have been appealing to the State for a long time to regularize those who have completed 15 years, and over, of service. However, the government has not heeded to these appeals, the organization said in a note received here today.  The work-charge employees have decided to “launch a non-cooperation movement” and a hunger strike against the department from March 15.
The association has urged the authorities to address the matter at the earliest and take steps to resolve the issue. The work-charge workers who have completed service of 15 years and above must be regularized “before the scheduled proposed non- cooperation movement,” the association said.
