House gutted at Sechu Zubza
Another fire incident took place today at Sechu Zubza under Kohima district, where a house consisting of 3 rooms and 2 kitchens was completely burned down to ashes. Speaking to The Morung Express, Chairman, Zubza Village Council Niko Secii informed that the house belonged to Zubza Village Council, which was used for commercial purpose. He said the cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained. However, it is believed that a young girl of around 3 years, (a tenant, staying with her grandfather) was playing with fire. Due to fear, she is not disclosing anything to the council members, he said.
The chairman expressed heartfelt gratitude to the 78 Batt CRPF, Sechu Zubza and 20th C Company Assam Rifle for their timely assistance without which the fire would have spread to the neighboring houses. The loss is estimated to be more than Rs 4 lakhs. Meanwhile the Fire & Emergency Services, when contacted said, they received the information late and thereby could not reach on time.
