They have been identified as Mashunring Hungyu (27 years) S/O Yaima Hungyu of Ringpam village residing at Wungram Colony, Dimapur (ii) Angam Chitung (30 years) S/O Anderson of Ukhrul village, resident of Wungram Colony, Dimapur and (iii) Ghunato Awomi (20 years) S/O Late Phekoshe of Khehoi village. The arrest was made following a complaint of Vehicle theft from the premises of Zion Hospital on the evening of February 20, 2012. After receiving the complaint, all personnel were alerted and sources were activated to trace the missing vehicle. Search was organized and during the search, a suspected Bolero without registration was intercepted near Wungram Colony, Dimapur And on thorough checking, the vehicle was found to be the stolen vehicle. The driver of the vehicle Angam Chitung was arrested and brought to the police station for interrogation. On interrogation, the arrested accused stated that one of his friend namely Mashunring Hungyu and a friend identified as one Amento Sema asked him to hide the stolen vehicle after removing the registration plates. Basing on his statement, a police party was send to Wungram Colony to arrest the accused Mashunring Hungyu. On interrogation of Mashunring Hungyu who claimed to be ‘SS’ Sgt of NSCN (IM), he revealed the names of some co-accused. A trap was laid to arrest the named accused and during the process, Ghunato Awomi was arrested near Sumi Baptist Church, Purana Bazaar. On interrogation of accused Ghunato Awomi, it was revealed that, he along with two of his accomplices namely Amento Sema, S/O Kughato of Khehoi village and Ragouzelhou Semou alias Neikho Semou, S/O Rheitouzhu Semou of Nerhema Village stole the vehicle from Zion Hospital. Based on their statement, raid was conducted at the house of Amento Sema located at Riverbelt Colony and Ragouzelhou Semou located at Thilixu but the accused were found absconding and evading the police arrest. A suspected master key was seized from the possession of Angam Chitung. A case was registered in this connection and further investigation has been taken up and the accused have been forwarded to court for remand. Efforts are on to apprehend the absconding accused.
