Home Minister drum up support for next elections

The much-awaited dream of the people of Pungro in Kiphire district has become a reality with the inauguration Additional Deputy Commissioner headquarters by Home Minister Nagaland Imkong L Imchen today. During the inauguration, however, the minister took the opportunity to appeal to the people ‘to renew the license of representatives for another five years.’
Home Minister Imchen said the ‘NPF-led DAN government do not participate in Naga political talks; however, its first agenda is to bring honorable solution of the Nagas as it support the talks from outside and added, development, people security and Naga political solution are so dear and close to the heart of the government.’
‘Our political integrity is very clean which is firm and steadfast which cannot be shaken,’ he claimed. ‘We have not seen any wrong in our government as we have not obstructed any thing so far for the welfare of the people.’
According to the Home Minister the government has “fulfilled its objective through the developmental activities that you witness now.” It is your turn to ‘renew the license’ of respective representatives for another five years so that more development and peace prevail in the state,’ he said, obviously calling for votes in the coming State elections.
Imkong also claimed that the NPF party is the ‘only original party working for the welfare of the Naga people.’ He called upon the people to ‘support NPF government in next election’.
‘Pungro was not in the developmental map of previous government but today Pungro is known under the leadership of Chief Minister Rio,” he claimed and asked the people to ‘acknowledge it through work.’ Parliamentary Secretary T Torechu who also addressed the gathering said ‘be it health facility, education, banking it is now with us so we don’t need to go to Kiphire for this.’ The only thing needed, he asserted, is to cooperate ‘so that we progress forward in all front and the tag “backward” is removed from us.’
The MLA added that Pungro ‘hardly any development before but now we see development everywhere and call upon the people to be positive and receive development.’
