The two groups took ‘cognizance’ of the landmark resolution adopted by the joint legislatures forum of their determination to pave the way for Indo-Naga political settlement. The recent sixty elected members visit to New Delhi in search of Indo-Naga political settlement at the earliest is laudable for which the NH & ENPO salute the sagacity and actions of sixty Naga people’s representatives.
“Side by side” the note said, the ‘hoho’ and ENPO further agreed in principle to organize a peace rally during the last part of August, 2012 at Kohima in support of Indo-Naga political settlement before the next state general elections due to be held in 2013.”
Demands CBI probe into NAP’s arms-selling
In another matter, the two organizations took note at what it said is the “threat perception against the Naga people and their land from various elements.” The matter has become imperative for the Police department of Nagaland to be more vigilant and “free of corruptions.”
“Unfortunately, we have witnessed unwanted activities/ corruptions meted out by Police officers in recent times by selling arms and ammunitions as if there is no established laws to curb such corruptions,” the Naga Hoho and the ENPO said and have demanded CBI inquiry into the matter.
“Therefore, sensing the ‘bird’s eye view’ attitude of the higher ups in the police department, NH and ENPO appeal to the state government to probe into various scams by inviting CBI immediately. Further, we condemn all forms of corruption in Naga society meted out by politicians, government officials and various leaders.”
