Training stresses on traditional methods of water conservation

Mon, August 22 (MExN): Awareness cum training programme on ‘Water Conservation’ was conducted on August 22 at KVK Office Aboi by Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Mon under National Innovations of Climate Resilient in Agriculture-Technology Demonstration components (NICRA-TDC).


Hongo Konyak, Ngangching Village Council Chairman and Pongnyei Konyak, President, Ngangching citizen Union graced the programme as the special invitee guest.


Dr. Manoj Singh Sachan, ACTO (Plant Breeding), KVK Mon in a press release stated that the special guests emphasized on traditional methods of water conservation and its proper utilization in the field with locally available resources. 


The programme was led and resource person by Dr. MS Sachan, Asst. Chief Technical Officer (Plant Breeding) emphasized on various aspects of water conservation and resource conservation technologies in agriculture which was directly related to savings of water.


 The main purpose of the programme conserves water, conserve life. Saving water helps to preserve our environment. It reduces the energy required to process and deliver water, which helps in reducing pollution and conserving resources. “Saving water now means having water available in the future for recreational purposes too.” 


Imtinuksung, Subject Matter Specialist (Soil Conservation) was also highlighted in relation to water and soil moisture conservation. Poster presentation was also made and explained to the farmers by the different school students in relation to water conservation.


Altogether, 85 farmers, rural youth, public leader, government employee, students from NICRA adopted village Ngangching attended the programme.
