Road collision: Two killed

DIMAPUR, JULY 18 (MExN): Two persons were killed and one was seriously injured in a fatal road collision at 2 ½ Mile, Dimapur. The accident occurred around 12:00 am, July 17.  According to a delayed report received from the police, the collision occurred when a dipper truck (NL 04D 1128) rammed onto a stationary pick-up truck (NL 01K 2710) near NRL petrol pump. The truck was proceeding towards town.  The deceased were identified Ramesh Behari and Kaisii Mao. The one identified a Behari died on impact while the latter succumbed to injury in hospital. The condition of the third person, identified as Ganga Prasad, is said to be stable and is admitted at the district hospital.  Police are yet to locate the driver of the truck, who absconded from the scene after the collision. The bodies of the deceased were handed over to relatives after the necessary formalities, the Additional Superintendent of Police said, while effort is on to trace out the absconding driver.
