Legal awareness prog held at Peren

Dimapur, November 25 (MExN): Peren Legal Services Authority organized a Legal Awareness Programme at Nsong under Peren District, a first of its kind in the district. Around 120 beneficiaries attended the seminar. Ajongba Imchen, Deputy Secretary, Peren Legal Services Authority, Civil Judge (Jr) Peren interpreted about constitutional duties of the judiciary and Legal Aid Advocates and Constitutional Rights of the citizens to be exercised without any apprehension. He also stressed about amicable solution through Lok Adalat in the form of Mediation for speedy disposal of cases and to avoid delay in the normal/regular court.
Four panel Advocated from Dimapur and Peren Legal Services Authority Adv. Asungbe covered legal issues on NREGS & Juvenile Justice. Adv Limasenla Longkumer spoke about Consumer Rights & Para Legal Volunteers, Adv Esther Aye also stressed on Gender Equality and Domestic Violence, whereas Adv Sentimenla explained on RTI and its implication followed by queries and interaction. The seminar was organized with initiative from EAC, Nsong.
