On Doyang Hydro Electric Power Project

•- Apropos to the rejoinder by Er. S. Patton Doyang, Wokha , I would also like to share my opinion on the 17% power share from the 75MW Doyang Hydro Electric Power Project. Through the rejoinder we come to know the power purchase agreement between the funding agency-NEC and the executing agency-NEEPCO and out of which Nagaland will get 12% free power as Royalty and another 5% to be billed by the generating company.
As affected land owners what we come to know from NEEPCO is that rehabilitation is with the Government of Nagaland as it is getting 12% free power which up to date is approximately 75 crores. Some pertinent questions to be asked here are; are the affected land owners of DHEP don't have any share of the 12% free power (as it is a royalty on land given), does the affected land owners don,t have any privilege for rehabilitation programmes and what about the corporate social responsibility scheme of DHEP (should be as per corporate law percentage and not just for name sake).Of course all these questions will be answered by the Land acquisition Rehabilitation and Resettlement Act 2011.
