Dimapur, November 8 (MExN):  A musical show organised by the ABAM International Ministries (AIM) was held at the Dimapur Ao Baptist Church, in Duncan, on the theme ‘We have a debt to pay and a promise to keep’. The concert, which was combined with the English service with a plan to produce a musical CD of the show, was free for all.
A concert with a mission
“The programme is not for us tonight, it’s for others”, exhorted associate pastor at ABC Kohima, pastor Watitoshi. Stating that the highest quality is what we do for others, but while doing that our ministry also grows stronger from it, Pastor Wati told the youths present at the musical show that the main purpose of the show was for others to benefit.
Presenting a befitting musical tribute to God were 3 well-known musical groups in Nagaland: Samaro, Sinai Ministries and Sisterhood Voice. A special feature was presented by Wati Longkumer and Toshi Langu, where they enacted a mock Chinese caricature drama which had the audience in peals of laughter. Afterwards, they performed a song.
Heart rendering testimonies were given by Wabang Longkumer from Sinai Ministries, after which he and his group sang to ‘He touched me’. Longkumer narrated how the song had a special significance in his life, saying that while at a crusade this was the particular song which God had asked him to sing on stage.
Lima Imsong from ‘Samaro’ group also gave his testimonial and spoke of the time he had spent in the remote villages of Arunachal Pradesh while trying to serve God and spread His message. He spoke to the audience about how he spent months in the village alone with no one with him. He recounted stories about how he was mistreated and even poisoned at one point, all because of his love for God. He sang the song ‘Yisu Marujungi’ along with his group, Samaro.
In closing the concert, the three musical groups came together and sang the theme song for the night, ‘Ni Yangi Lir, Ni Yokang Kibur’ (‘I’m here; send me, Lord’). Rev. Tzudir said the closing prayer at the end of the programme.
