Peace Channel consultative meet today
Dimapur, November 19 (MExN): Peace Channel, the emerging youth Peace Movement of the new millennium, will be organising an inter-faith and inter-community consultative meeting with the religious and community leaders of Peren district on November 20, at 11:30am, at the Jalukie Town Council Hall. The Peace Channel Desk, Dimapur, in a press release stated that the meeting is aimed at reviewing the existing situation in the district on peace and development as well as to evolve a discussion and action forum in order to promote inter-faith and inter-community understanding. The Peace Channel has extended invitation to all churches, communities and religious leaders of all the localities under Peren district to participate in the meeting and “be part of the humble initiative of the Peace Movement”.
NE Film Festival at New Delhi
Kohima, November 19 (DIPR): The International Amateur Theatre Association (IATA) will be organising a Film Festival at New Delhi for movies and films produced in the different states of North-East. One or two films will be selected from each state. The main objective of the Festival is to contribute to the promotion of regional cultural activities and to develop better communication and understanding among different states of the North-East as well as the North-East with other parts of the country. Interested producers from Nagaland have been invited to contact the directorate of Information & Public Relations, IPR Citadel, New Capital Complex, Kohima, for further details.
CM to inaugurate golden jubilee of NCSA
Kohima, November 19 (DIPR): The Nagaland Civil Service Association will be celebrating its golden jubilee on November 25 at the Imagine Nagaland Hall of Administrative Training Institute, Kohima. State Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio will grace the inaugural session in the morning at 10:30am while Home Minister Imkong L Imchen will grace the evening cultural extravaganza at 4pm the same day. All former NCS officers and family members have been invited to attend the function. All NCS officers have been directed to report by 2pm on November 24 at the ATI Kohima for registration and business session.
NSF federal assembly on Nov 26
Dimapur, November 19 (MExN): The 2nd Federal Assembly of the Naga Students’ Federation for the tenure 2009-11 has been set for November 26 to be held at the NSF conference hall at Naga Club building, from 11:00am onwards. While informing this to all the federal units and subordinate bodies of the NSF, a press note issued by Kelhouneizo Yhome, Speaker F/A, further directed all the presidents and representatives of the federating units and subordinate bodies to attend the assembly positively. “The agenda for deliberation in the federal assembly shall be notified in due course of time,” the press note added.
Rongmei Naga Bible CL to be released on November 22
Dimapur, November 19 (MExN): The Bible Society of India, Dimapur Auxiliary, will be releasing the Rongmei Naga Bible CL on November 22 at the Tamenglong Town Baptist Church, Manipur. Rev. Dr. Z K Rochill Auxiliary Secretary for BSI Dimapur Auxiliary will release the Bible, informed Rev. T P Mordecai, executive secretary for RNBA, in a press release. While informing that the Rongmei Naga community is anxiously waiting to receive their revised edition Bible, the release further added that before printing the Bible, Rs.360,000 had been paid to the Dimapur Auxiliary.
NYK Phek 37th foundation day celebrated
Kohima, November 19 (MExN): The Nehru Yuva Kendra, Phek, celebrated its 37th foundation day at the conference hall of NYK Phek on November 14 with Shekhohu, Lecturer at Phek Government College, as the resource person. To mark the day, an essay-writing competition was held in connection with the life and philosophies of Jawaharlal Nehru in which Ato, Vejohi and James were awarded prizes and certificates. On the occasion, the District Level Youth Awards under NYK Phek for the year 2009-10 were also conferred to Rukuvelii and Vechizo. The awards carry cheques of Rs.5,000 each, informed a release issued by the Yuva Kendra.
