Four Nagaland Bands qualify for Hornbill National Rock contest

Kohima | November 20 : Four bands from Nagaland have qualified for the Hornbill National Rock Contest at the audition for Nagaland bands held here today at The Heritage. The four bands include OFF, Dementia, Sunep Essemble Band and Melodrama. From the remaining bands, three bands were shortlisted out of which one lucky band will get a wild card entry to the contest which will be announced soon.
21 bands from the state had turned up for the auditions today. They were Sonicboom, Melodroma, EOE, Jumpstart, Knell, Faded Black, Eastern Hazt, Damn Silence, Viviparious and X6, Rusty Dust, Fourth Origin, Effusion, Delirium, Incipit, Sunep Ensemble Band, Decimal, Kronik, OFF and Panzer Division. The judges for the audition included Dr. Wabang Pongener, Alfred Besu and Thejove Medeo.
During the daylong audition, project director G Chishi of Music Task Force along with members of the event management group XL – director Abu Metha, event director Neingulie Nakhro, chief event consultant Ababe Ezung, media & public relation secretary Dr. Tolto Metha, press & publicity secretary Xavier Rutsa and member Desmo Ruguo Kesiezie, were present.
Furthermore, 35 bands from outside Nagaland have also registered till Thursday evening for the Hornbill National Rock contest.
