Joyous Christmas mood at KLBC pre-Christmas
Mr. and Mrs. Donald Weeks greet members of KLBC during the church’s pre-Christmas celebration, on Sunday, December 6.
Kohima, December 6 (MExN): The congregation of Kohima Lotha Baptist Church got together on Sunday, December 6, to celebrate pre-Christmas at their church to mark the festive season. Donald Weeks from the United States, who was the main speaker, said that Christmas is a message of joy to the whole world as Christ came to be our Saviour to give us eternal life.
“If our greatest need had been education, He would have sent an educator; had it been technology, He would have sent a scientist; had our greatest need been entertainment, He would have sent an entertainer; but our greatest need was forgiveness and salvation. That is why He sent a Saviour. We are truly Blessed people,” Donald Weeks exhorted. He further encouraged the congregation to be like the angels and the shepherds and to portray the beauty of Jesus to others. Weeks also called upon them to enjoy the Christmas season because of the fact that God loved us and paid a perfect price for all our sins by giving us His only Son.
Other highlights of the festive programme included special song presented by the Ministerial staff and Christmas Carol by the KLBC youths. Pastor at KLBC, Rev. Mhathung Lotha, invoked God’s blessing, while associate women leader Wondangbeni read the scripture. Associate pastor Rev. Sankiluma Kikon said the offertory prayer while associate pastor Rev. A Khyolamo said the benediction. Informing this in a press release, Lolano P Khuvung, added that the pre-Christmas programme was chaired by Mhonchumo Lotha, lecturer at KBC, while Zareni was the pianist. The programme was followed by light refreshment in the church premises, it was added.
