Disaster management programme at Northfield

Kohima, March 18 (DIPR): The department of Civil Defence & Home Guards, Kohima, will be organising a Disaster Management programme at Northfield School on March 19, at 12 noon, to sensitise teachers and students on disaster management as per the directives of the government. According to Deputy Controller for Civil Defence and District Commandant, Home Guards, Kohima, Medo Pienyü, the programme will lay emphasis on mock drill in the event of an earthquake, use of fire extinguishers, etc.

Free eye camp underway at Mangkolemba
 
Mokokchung, March 18 (DIPR):  A free IOL Cataract Eye camp is underway at the Primary Health Centre, Mangkolemba. The programme started on March 16 and will continue till March 20. The programme is being organised by the District Health Society under National Programme for Control of Blindness, Mokokchung. The renowned eye specialist doctors providing treatment to the patients include Tako Lemtor, Dy. Director STO/NPSB Nagaland, Dr. Imnapokyim, Dr. Merenla and Dr. Heoungkiebe. The overall supervision of the programme is being done by Dr. Sunep, SMO for Mangkolemba, and staff. The public, especially those residing under Mangkolemba Sub-Division, have been invited to avail the free treatment facilities.

Orientation for CMCF beneficiaries on March 23

Dimapur, March 18 (MExN): All selected candidates of CMCF 2009-10 for Dimapur district are informed that there will be an orientation programme on March 23 at 11:00am in the DC’s Conference Hall. The DC has directed all the beneficiaries to attend the programme.

Chumukedima to remove roadside trees

Dimapur, March 18 (MExN): In view of the frequent incidence of felling of trees on roads due to wind, or otherwise, causing human injury, damage to property and disruption to public properties like electricity, telephone, vehicular movements, etc., all the residents of Chumukedima Town have been directed to “remove tree plantation on the road side” which are likely to cause havoc or public inconvenience. EAC and EO, Chumukedima Town Council, B Henok Buchem, has through a press release informed that the GBs, led by the Hd GB, have been authorised to verify and take prompt action on the spot against such defaulters.

Nagaland Governor to address NLA session

Kohima, March 18 (DIPR): Governor of Nagaland, Nikhil Kumar, is to address the sixth session of the 11th Nagaland Legislative Assembly on March 23, the first day of this session. Besides the address by the Governor, the first day’s session will also have moving of Motion of Thanks to the Governor’s address and obituary references. The session will resume on March 25 (Thursday), after a recess on the 24th, with Question hour, laying of Reports/papers, Annual Administrative Reports, debate on Motion of Thanks to Governor’s Address, introduction of government bills, presentation of supplementary demands for grants, Vote on Account for the year 2010-2011, etc. On March 26 there will be a recess on account of the Rajya Sabha election. The Assembly session will be held on March 27 (Saturday) and 29 (Monday), with March 28 (Sunday) being a holiday. This calendar of sitting for the sixth session of the 11th assembly was notified by the Nagaland Legislative Assembly Secretariat.
