Kohima, March 19 (MExN): The Disaster Management Cell at ATI, Kohima, has launched its website (http://dmcnagaland.webs.com). C J Ponraj, Principle Secretary for Home, government of Nagaland, today officially launched the website at his official chambers in the presence of Sarah Jamir, Under Secretary to the government of Nagaland, Associate Professors Dr. Hovithal N Sothu and Er. N Moa Longkumer, and Yatilo, Technical Assistant at Disaster Management Cell, Nagaland.
The site has been launched with a view to spearhead the awareness campaign on Disaster Risk Management and reflect the activities undertaken by the Disaster Management Cell, informed Associate Professor Dr. Hovithal Sothu, Disaster Management Cell, ATI Kohima, in a press release. Interested individuals may take part in online discussion forums related to various Disaster Risk Management activities in the state, added Dr. Sothu.
The website has links to pages on the ‘Profile of Faculty members’ in the cell, ‘Hazard Profile of Nagaland’, ‘History of past disasters’ in the state, annual training calendar, Nagaland Disaster Management Rules 2007 and pictures of areas affected by various disasters, the release added.
