Dimapur, June 26 (MExN): A technology oriented classroom teaching solution ‘TeachNext’ was launched at the Hope Academy, Dimapur by Helix, one of the largest education software companies in India. Hope Academy is the first school to adopt and implement this technology in Nagaland.
After the formal launch of the of the classroom by Chief Guest Alemtemshi, IAS Addl. Chief Secretary & Development Commissioner, resource person from Helix Technology Solutions Pvt Ltd, Sourav gave a presentation to invitees, parents and teachers of Hope Academy students. He explained that TeachNext contained the entire curriculum from KG to XII as per syllabus in a portable box and choice of display is up to the school and teachers’. A revolutionary single classroom solution that enhances the learning and teaching experience in the classroom, through 2D and 3 D animations, it has tests, exercises and experiments. A special feature is also that it can be operated easily like a television with a remote device.

The chief guest at the inaugural function, in his speech stated that there are two sides to Nagaland: one which is strong, rich and technology savvy while on the other there is a Nagaland that is very poor. He however said that we can all dream of a day when schools in Nagaland will have access to such technological facilities. He further expressed that while changes are extremely important; we tend to lose our humanity. He also felt that Nagas have lost track of our morals and ethics which might have resulted as a result of fast paced change from tribal to modern. “Census 2001 was the perfect example” he said. Commenting the Hope Academy Administrators and facilitators, he said that the launch of “Teach Next” is a small beginning
Quoting J.K Rowling’s commencement speech “We do not need magic to transform our world….we have the power to imagine better", Sashila, Administrator of Hope Academy said that Hope Academy started with a vision to make Naga children be at par with other children of India. “Every child deserves the best, their background doesn’t matter” she said. She also felt that the saying we live in a global village might sound cliché but its true and even schools now are becoming hi-tech. She also explained that all the five sense are very required to make learning more effective than learning by rote method- which she avoids very much. She concluded by saying that Hope Academy hopes to mould the students to become right thinkers and the future of the society.
Toshi, Youth Director DABA led the benediction while vote of thanks was delivered by Moala. MLA Sentichuba and his wife was also present at the function.
