Essay competition on Bamboo



Kohima, July 31 (MExN): The District Education Officer, Kohima has informed all high school level students under Kohima district for the district level essay competition on the topic “Bamboo for community and livelihood” in 750 words in English scheduled with effect from August 1 to 31. The essay must be written in his/her own handwriting, a release received here said. All principals/headmasters have been requested to certify the name of the students/class, roll number and submit it along with the essay to the DEO Kohima on or before August 20 (12:00 noon positively). This essay competition is sponsored by the World Bamboo Organization of NBDA, Dimapur and is being conducted by the office of DEO, Kohima. The best three winners shall be awarded with the prize money. Ist prize- Rs. 7000, 2nd prize-Rs. 5000 and 3rd prize- Rs. 3000. This was stated in a release issued by Kohima DEO Zaveyi Nyekha.

Exhibition cum Sale on Bamboo Crafts

Dimapur, July 31 (MExN): The Nagaland Handloom & Handicrafts Development Corporation Ltd. Dimapur will be organizing Exhibition cum Sale on Bamboo Crafts commemorating World Bamboo Day & North East International Bamboo Festival at Kisama, Kohima, Nagaland for three days from September 16 to 18, 2010. The Managing Director Hokiye Yeputhomi has informed in a press note that interested Individuals, SHGs, Co-operatives, NGOs, etc. may apply to the Project Cell, NHHDC Ltd., Half Nagarjan, Dimapur, on or before 10th September, 2010 during the office hour. Moreover, the stall shall be provide free of cost to the participants along with lump sum daily allowances and will also be provided. Traveling allowance for 2nd Class Train/ Bus fare on production of original tickets, the note stated.

First ever youth camp in Pungro held

Pungro, July 31 (MExN): The first ever youth camp in Pungro area was held at Pungro Town from July 16 to 18 at Government High School Building Pungro under the theme “Where will you spend your eternity?” Alem Pastor, Bethel Prayer Home Dimapur was the speaker and he was accompanied by four counsellors.  More than 300 youths attended the camp and received God’s blessing. In the occasion, as many as 30 youths have converted and decided themselves before God to go for theological Studies. Pungro Town Baptist Church Youth Pastor T. Wongtokiu Yimchunger in a press release said that the camp has not only benefited the youths but the all the citizens by imparting spiritual teachings at the Sunday devotional service held at Baptist Church, Pungro.
