RPOK meeting today

Dimapur, February 7 (MExN):
The Razeba Public Organization, Kohima (RPOK) will have consultative meeting on February 8 at Zavise Rume's residence, High School Road, Kohima from 03.00 PM onwards. All Office bearers and elders are requested to attend positively.

“The Dying Giant” release today

Dimapur, February 7 (MExN):
Commissioned by NEZCC, the documentary film “The Dying Giant” will be formally released by Savi Legise, President Naga Council at NEZCC Office Complex on February 8 at 3.00 pm. NEZCC Director, Som Kamei has informed that the release function will be followed by the screening of the film. The documentary is based on the Giant Load Carrying tradition of tribal Communities of Manipur.

CM to grace NCSU anniversary

Kohima, February 7 (DIPR):
The 37th Anniversary of Nagaland Contractors’ & Suppliers’ Union (NCSU) will be celebrated on February 10 at 11 a.m. at the Heritage Old DC Bungalow Kohima. Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio will inaugurate the function, as the chief guest and Minister for Road & Bridges G. Kaito Aye will be the guest of honour.

Electoral rolls for Longleng

Dimapur, February 7 (MExN):
The electoral rolls for 49 Tamlu A/C and 50 Longleng A/C constituencies have been prepared with reference to January 1, 2012 as the qualifying date and in accordance with the registration of electoral rules, 1960.A copy of the electoral rolls along with the list of amendments have been published and will be available for inspection at the office of Electoral Registration Officer and ADC Longleng or in the Election Office, DC Office Longleng.  

KMC directs

Kohima, February 7 (MExN):
With a view to keep Kohima a clean city, all the shopkeepers within the jurisdiction of Kohima Municipal Council have been directed to keep the premises of their shops clean within reach of 5 to 6 feet. All the waste materials should be packed in the sack/cartoon and throw in the collecting point and also to remove all the decoration light at the earliest. Any shopkeepers failing to comply with the notice, a stern action shall be taken against them, according to an office order issued by Elizabeth Ngully, chief executive officer, KMC. KPC meeting on February 11

Dimapur, February 7 (MExN):
A general body meeting of the Kohima Press Club has been convened on February 11 at 12:00 p.m at its office to elect a new team of office bearers. A KPC release has informed all its members to attend the meeting positively.

LCS & RTI Dimapur District informs

Dimapur, February 7 (MExN):
Life Consumer Society & RTI Dimapur District has informed all its office bearers and members to attend the general meeting positively on February 11 at 10:30 am in its official residence. This was informed in a press release issued by LCS & RTI Dimapur District general secretary Khevito Chishi.

LFA executive meeting on February 14

Dimapur, February 7 (MExN):
The Convenor, Legislators’ Forum on AIDS (LFA) Nagaland, Kuzholuzo Nienu, Minister for Health & Family Welfare has convened executive meeting on February 14 (Tuesday) at 11:00 A.M. in the Assembly Committee Room. The meeting will discuss some important and urgent matters pertaining to the new strategies of LFA and its activities for the year 2012-13. All the executive members are requested to kindly attend the aforesaid meeting positively, informed a press note issued by NLA Secretary AE Lotha.

NUVC meeting on February 25

Dimapur, February 7 (MExN):
Naga United Village Council (NUVC) has convened its general public meeting on February 25 at 10:00 am at Village Local Ground. All the villagers are requested to attend the meeting without fail.

NPF central women wing condoles

Dimapur, February 7 (MExN):
The NPF central women wing has deeply mourned the death of four NPF women leaders Khayi Kaini, Thangwan (Angamla), Pangawon Phimu (Awon) and Nepuni Matia Pfoze who wre killed in the bus mishap near Makhan centre on February 4. The NPF central women wing in a condolence message has conveyed its deepest sympathy to the bereaved family members and prayed to Almighty God to usher divine strength and speedy recovery to all those injured in the accident.

SECC prog in Longleng on February 10

Dimapur, February 7 (MExN):
In order to generate public awareness about the Socio Economic & Caste Census 2012, a one day awareness programme on Socio Economic & caste Census (SECC) at Longleng District Hq. on February 10, 10:30 a.m at PPC Hall Longleng. Longleng DC K. Libanthung Lotha has informed in a press release that officers from the SIRD, Nagaland Kohima will be attending the programme as resource person. Therefore, all concerned officers/officials/public are requested to attend the programme.
 
St. Joseph Catholic Church Pongo 25 yrs

Kohima, February 7 (MExN):
The St. Joseph Catholic Church Pongo-Longleng will be celebrating its silver jubilee on February 12 at Pongo village, Longleng district under the theme “ It is not you who choose me… go and bear the fruits.” (John 15:16). The silver jubilee monolith will be unveiled by chief guest K. Libanthung Lotha, Deputy Commissioner Longleng. Most Rev. Dr. James Thoppil D.D, Bishop of Kohima Diocese Nagaland will bless the silver jubilee monolith and officiate the Holy Eucharist.
 
DPDP Kohima to felicitate students and teachers
 
Kohima, February 7 (DIPR): All the Government High Schools in Kohima District have been informed that the DPDP Kohima envisages to conduct a few befitting programs during 2012 to encourage the schools of Government High Schools of Kohima District to come up at par with their counter parts in all aspects. Unlike other years, the Board will not only encourage the students but also challenge the teachers to make more efforts so as to produce quality as well as quantity results.
With this in view, the Board has framed the following programs to be conducted during the year.
For Students (Topper Award): That the Board will give Cash award of Rs.10,000/- each with Certificate to HSLC candidates of Government High Schools in Kohima District who come up to Top 50. In case no student comes up to this level, the award will be given to the highest aggregate marks with 1st Division with an amount of Rs.5000 each Certificate.
For Teachers (Best School Award): The Board has earmarked an amount of Rs.30,000/- for any Government School in Kohima District who can produce Cent per Cent pass in HSLC Examination (Percentage from the number of students appeared and not from students enrolled). The cash award is to be given exclusively for teachers' welfare fund.
The Board has wished and encouraged all the teachers and students of Government High Schools of Kohima District to strife harder and excels in the HSLC-Examinations 2012 by putting more efforts to get the award to make themselves and the DPDB Kohima proud.
 
Arrangement carried out for exams in Tuensang
 
Tuensang, February 7 (DIPR): The monthly Tuensang District Planning & Development was held on February 6 chaired by ADC Tuensang Sotsula. Before taking up the agendas for discussion the board observed one minute silence for the departed soul of Late Rajkumar Verma Additional Secretary and Late N.V. Thomas JE, CAWD, Tuensang.
Highlighting on the upcoming HSSLC exam 2012, Principal Government Higher Secondary School Tuensang informed the board about the process of conducting HSLC exam 2012 and said that all necessary arrangement is being carried out in all the exam centres in the district.
Tentative training programme on office procedure service and establishment matter was also discussed by the board and decided to have a short duration training of officers and staff of all departments in the district on office procedure, service and other establishment matter in the month of February 2012. The board asked all the head of offices in the district to sent a list of officers and staff who are willing to avail the opportunity. It was also decided to collect a sum of Rs. 1000/- each from the department to defray the training expenses.
Various departments were asked to present the departmental activities with a power point presentation it in the next DPDB meeting.
With regard to the12th Five Year annual Plan (2012-2013) format, the District Planning Officer informed the board that format for preparation of 12 Five Year annual plan 2012-13 was distributed to all offices in the district and reminded the departments to prepare the annual plan and asked to consult DPO office for further clarification. The meeting concluded with vote of thanks from the chair.
 
Mokokchung dist discusses departmental plan proposals
 
Mokokchung, February 7 (DIPR): District Planning & Development Board, Mokokchung has taken up detail discussions on perspective plan submitted by various departments to be taken up during the 12 Five Year Plan. Deputy Commissioner, Lithrongla G. Chishi, who chaired the meeting, took up departmental wise discussions on the plan proposals submitted by various departments. In-depth discussions were ensued on those developmental departments to ensure that the proposals are not overlapped and they are need-base schemes for the welfare of the people.
The discussion laid emphasized on Rural Development, Health sector, Road & Bridges, Horticulture, PHED, Soil & Water Conservation, Forest etc. Deputy Commissioner further asked departments who are yet to submit to do so at the earliest for onward submission to the government. The meeting also took up discussion on recommendation submitted by District Task Force on fixation of labor wages rate. Having explained in detail the trouble undertaken by the DTF under the chairmanship of ADC Kesonyu Yhome for fixing uniform wages rate for all categories of laborers, the meeting decided that the wages would be notified by the DC. As there is a need to keep constant monitoring of wages and issuing proficiency card to labourers the meeting decided that the DTF will continue to function.
The meeting also recommended renaming of Government High School Changtongya to R.C. Chiten Jamir Memorial Govt. High School. Renaming of three roads, two at Changtongya and one at Tuli was also approved by the meeting and it would be forwarded to the government for getting final approval. Earlier, the DC welcomed the new SP Mokokchung, Sonia Singh and introduced her to the members of the DPDB.
