AR conducts free eye camp at Merima

Dimapur, February 7 (MExN): The 16th Assam Rifles and Headquarters 5 Sector Assam Rifles Headquarters Inspector General Assam Rifles (North) under HQ 3 Corps conducted a free eye camp on February 2 at Merima village, Kohima as part of SADBHAVANA.
A press note issued by the Assam Rifle said that a team comprising of paramedical staff 16 AR along with Phyantsuha, eye specialist, Office of Health and Family Welfare, Kohima contributed in humanitarian gesture of providing free eye check up alongwith free medical cover. Approx 71 people including 18 male and 28 female attended the camp for eye treatment. 25 eye glasses were also distributed to old people of Merrima village.
The patients were ferried by 16 AR ambulances from nearby areas of Merrima village for availing the much needed facility. An interactive session was also organized by 16 AR which provided them an insight to HIV/AIDS, hepatitis, malaria, water-borne and various other hazards of nature. It was actively participated by people from far fleeing areas based on prior intimation by 16 AR.
