NPF laments “factional violence”
Dimapur, February 8 (MExN): The Naga People’s Front (NPF) laments the spurt in “factional violence” in the state and says that the violence has created “some avoidable situation in the otherwise congenial law and order front.” A copy of what the party called “resolutions” was received here today. The central leaders of the NPF met in Kohima February 8.
“The recent spurt of factional violence in the state has resulted in the loss of many precious lives and created some avoidable situation in the other wise congenial law and order front,” the NPF said. “The central office bearers strongly appeal to all the conflicting parties to shun violence and to follow the reconciliatory path. We further appeal to all the factions to strictly adhere to the ceasefire ground rules.”
The NPF is also grateful that the party scraped through the polling process of the Manipur state elections “with full vigor.” The party observed so during the first meeting of the new NPF central office bearers in Kohima.
“Against all odds, the party ranks and file and the legislative wing… had participated in the recently held Manipur Election with full vigor, fulfilling the fundamental tenets of the party and more so it has reached out and waked the extra mile in order to realize the aspirations of the Naga people,” the NPF said.
“The cohesive spirit of the party functionaries demonstrated in the Manipur elections is laudatory,” the party said and expressed gratitude to its “legislative wing” and all its functionaries “who rendered their best.”
