Dr. Shürhozelie launches new Angami attires

Kohima | February 9: Minister for urban development & higher education Dr. Shürhozelie Liezietsu today formally launched the new attires of Angami Nagas designed and manufactured by Chakhroma Women Organization (CWO) under the auspices of Angamiapfü Mechü Krotho (AMK).
Speaking on the occasion at the APO Hall this evening, the minister lauded the Angami women folk or preserving and promoting the rich traditional costumes. He said such steps play as a big role in keeping the identity and pride of the Nagas. The Minister also asserted that the world recognizes the Nagas through its traditional attires and traditions.
Source said the newly launched Angami male attires and necklaces shall not replicate without the consent of AMK and CWO. It said the motto of Angami attire signifies joy of love and unity for income generation and entrepreneurship. The attires that launched today included; Rami Boulie, Tsüphie Boulie, Anei-u Boulie, Zasi Boulie, Lorü Boulie and Kerüguo Boulie. The necklaces comprises; Khrietho Cü, Zievi Cü and Therhu Cü.
Earlier, Angami Public Organization (APO) president Keneingunyü Sekhose also spoke on the occasion. Brief account of the attires was given by Vimeno Liegise, general secretary CWO. AMK president Salhoutuonuo Kruse chaired the function while Marlyn Sale, advisor AMK and vice president Naga Mother’s Association delivered welcome address. Visasieü Dolie, director ABTK prayed for the programme while special numbers were presented by Kenei Chale, Lovo Mor and Vipiehu Chücha. Vote of thanks was proposed by Rhitono Khate, convenor, Terhi Houdo, AMK.
