RBI Financial Outreach camp held at Changki village

Changki, February 9 (MExN): The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) organized a Financial Outreach Camp at Changki village which was attended by a hot of top Indian Bankers including the Executive Director of RBI VK Das.
The Reserve Bank of India, according to a press communiqué, stated that since the Platinum celebration in 2009-10, the RBI had organized outreach camps in 218 villages across the country so far. The camps focus on the importance of financial literacy and financial education for achieving financial inclusion.
“Encouraged by the response received and the success of the Financial Outreach Camps, Reserve Bank of India has no launched the next phase of such camps in the North East and is organizing another camp at Changki Village…,” stated the communiqué.
Reminding that this is the third such programme in Nagaland – Khonoma in November 2009; Chumukedima in March 2011; and now in Changki village – the communiqué stated that the purpose of such camp is to bring awareness among the people regarding banking facilities available and to make an attempt at making available such facilities to ever adult citizen in the target area so as to bring them under the fold of mainstream banking.
Almost all the top bankers of India like the General Managers of Allahabad Bank, the State Bank of India etc took part in the ‘Financial Outreach Camp’. The different banks having their branches in Mokokchung like the Allahabad Bank, the SBI, HDFC, Axis Bank and other state banks opened up stalls at the venue and disseminated information to the people who availed the camps.
