ATMA Dimapur training under Kuhuboto block
Dimapur, February 10 (MExN): ATMA Kuhuboto Block under Dimapur district conducted a training programme on “Rodent Pest Management” on February 7. Around 50 participants participated in this training. The training emphasized on the different control measures of rodent. Among the many different species of rodents, the training mainly focuses on rats’ control by resource person, Bendanglila APP, DAO Office Dimapur.
There are mechanical, biological and chemical control.Animals such as snake, eagle, cat, fox etc can be implemented in biological control but among the animals, cat play a major role in biological control. Many chemicals are used for controlling the population of rats but the most effective and widely used chemicals is zinc phosphate.“They are acute and highly poisonous chemical thus killing the rat by accelerating the rate of blood flow and causing heart fail”, she added. After the training, zinc phosphate was distributed to all the participants free of cost.
Earlier the keynote address was given by AhoviSema, DAO and PD (ATMA) Dimapur andthe training programme was chaired by ToiviSwu, A.O and BTT Convenor,Kuhuboto Block.
