KVK Mokokchung SAC meeting held

Mokokchung, February 10 (MExN): The Scientific Advisory Committee (SAC) meeting of Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Mokokchung was held on February 9. The meeting was chaired by EH Lotha, Addl. Director of Agriculture.
A press note received here informed that other dignitaries from Directorate of Agriculture include Dr. Deepak Chetri Joint Director of Agriculture, Bendangyanger Joint Director of Agriculture, N. Thungjamo Lotha Dy. Director of Agriculture and Dr. Amenla, Lady Training Officer. Agri and allied departmental heads also attended the meeting. Dr. Bendangyanger PC KVK welcomed the SAC members and requested to share their valuable knowledge. EH Lotha, Addl. Director of Agriculture in his speech encouraged the KVK scientists to take up potential vegetable like onion which are rarely cultivated by the farmers in the district. He also apprised the members to have constant linkage with media especially with AIR Kohima for wider coverage of the technologies information.
Dr. Deepak Chetri Joint Director of Agriculture (KVK) in his speech requested the forum to coordinate with the KVK and support them with all the relevant available technologies for dissemination. He also emphasized on considering the cost factor of new technologies which can be readily acceptable by the farmers and promotion of small water harvesting structure like Jalkund as life saving irrigation during dry period.
