Phek DPDB meet conducted



Phek, February 10 (DIPR): DPDB Chairman & Deputy Chairman State Planning Board, Neiba Kronu chaired the Phek DPDB meeting at the DC's conference hall Phek on February 10. Parliamentary Secretary for Social Security & Welfare, Chotisu Sazo and Advisor IT & NRE, Deo Nukhu were also present in the meeting.
Important issues and agendas which were discussed included shifting of sub-jail Phek from the present location to the new complex, for which the, board members agreed to write to the PWD (R&B) department for blacktopping of the road and to request them to include the proposal on priority basis in the 2012 state plan works programme. Chotisu also called on all the departments in the district to contribute and give suggestion to make Chesezu a model village and a tourist hot spot.
Earlier Dr. Abune gave a detailed power point presentation for making Chesezu a model village from the district. He also requested the board to recommend the matter to the concerned authorities at the state level for the same. Construction of a helipad at Lozaphuhu was also recommended by the board. Further it was agreed to pursue to the authorities for opening new LPG centre/outlet at Pfutsero, Chizami, Lanye and Meluri in order to meet the growing demand of the public. The DPDB Chairman and members seriously viewed on the non maintenance of the NH-150 including the bridge which collapsed near Chakhabama in 2007 and is yet to be repaired by the BRO despite repeated reminders in the past.  As an ultimatum to the BRO it was decided that by 30th March 2012 if the BRO fails to initiate action to maintain the highway then it would be taken over by the state PWD (R&B).The Deputy Commissioner was also directed to write to the Chief Engineer BRO, SEWAK Dimapur regarding the above matter and request him for resumption of works at the earliest. A construction of a ring road at Pfutsero town was also discussed and recommended by the board to the department concerned.
The inclusion of villagers for the newly created RD Blocks in the district was discussed and approved. Up-gradation of schools i.e. GPS Zhavame-A to middle school, GMS Zhavame to high school, Phusachodu GPS- A to GMS and opening of new GPS at Zhavachhi village were recommended by the board.
