Students on goodwill mission to orphanage

Dimapur, February 10 (MExN): The volunteers of NSS-unit of Patkai Christian College have been reminded frequently that the logo of NSS ‘the Wheel’ which signifies the progressive, change and also implies constants activities determined for social transformation and adaptation in the dynamic world.
To realize and experience the mentioned objectives of NSS in practical life, the NSS-Unit of Patkai Christian College treasured the unique opportunity to have a first-in-hand experience with N.T. Kikon and Mhalo Kikon – founder of the Wondang Ki Orphanage & Adoption Centre, fellowship colony, Dimapur, stated a press note issued by PCC, NSS Programme Officer, Bendangnungsang. On February 5, the NSS-Unit comprising of 43 volunteers under the leadership of the Programme Officer, NSS visited the orphanage & Adoption Centre and came to know regarding the redundant children of the land who need love, care, education, guidance besides basic facilities in life. Volunteers of NSS spent nearly two hours with the children and imparted necessary academic, spiritual and social guidance that children have to learn in life.
Volunteers had a memorable time with the children and also with the founder of Wondang Ki and learned a life of sacrifice and commitment for the deprived in the world. Our visit to the orphanage will surely, no doubt, help us to take up the challenging responsibility for the betterment of humanity as a whole in future. The NSS volunteers, as part of their goodwill mission, donated a sum of Rs. 8484 (Eight thousand four hundred eighty-four) to the orphanage collected from among themselves and students of Patkai Christian College and wish the founders and the children a happy and prosperous life.
