Mkg admn fixes wages



Mokokchung, February 11 (MExN): The ‘Mokokchung Task Force (for Quality/Price Control & Labour Wages) Mokokchung today informed on the daily wages for the various categories of workers within Mokokchung town to be enforced from March 1, 2012 within Mokokchung municipal jurisdiction.
An official order issued by the Chairman of the District Task Force Mokokchung, Kesonyu Yhome, who is also the ADC of Mokokchung informed that the daily wages for ‘highly skilled’, ‘skilled’, ‘semi-skilled’ and ‘unskilled’ laborers shall be Rs 350, Rs 300, Rs 250 and Rs 170 respectively.
This categorization of laborers and the price of their labour services have been initiated after the District Price Control Committee constituted the District Task Force Mokokchung on July, 2011. Consequently, the District Task Force submitted the proposals for daily wage rates for laborers within Mokokchung town which was approved by the DPDB on 7th February 2012, the notification stated.
In this connection, the notification also disclosed that all laborers who have undergone the Labor Proficiency Test conducted by the District Task Force (DTF) have been issued Labour Proficiency Card (LPC) and that no laborer shall be allowed to work within Mokokchung town without obtaining the ‘Labour Proficiency Card, issued by the DTF.
In this regard, the DTF while informing that wage rates of the laborers are printed on the LPC, informed the citizens of the town to employ only those labourers who possess the LPC ‘in their own interest to ensure quality of workmanship’ and pay only the printed price on the Card.
Those laborers who demand wage rates more than the fixed rates shall be taken to task with the seizure of the Proficiency Card for the first offence and upon the second offence the same shall be fined such amount as deemed fit by the DTF.
The DTF also entrusted the Ward Gaonburas (GBs) to ensure that the orders of the Task Force are strictly adhered to within their respective wards. The GBs have been entrusted to inspect work-sites and report any violation of the Task Force orders and to take action as per the direction of the DTF, the release informed.
The Proficiency Test shall be conducted periodically as fixed by the District Task Force, and any laborer who does not possess the Proficiency Card shall undergo the Proficiency Test for obtaining the Card. Besides, any laborer who desires to promote his ‘Grade’ may undertake the Proficiency Test as and when the exercise is conducted.

Laborers Informed
The Chairman, Task Force Committee for District Price Control Committee Mokokchung Kesonyu Yhome (ADC Hq) today informed all the laborers both local and non-locals residing in and around Mokokchung district about a ‘Labor registration and Proficiency Test’ to be conducted by the Panel of Technical experts of District Task Force Committee.
Informing this in a circular, Yhome directed all the laborers to appear with their ILP for Non-local at Town Hall Mokokchung on February 21-22, 2012 at 10:00 AM.
