3 Corps celebrates R asing day
Dimapur, February 11 (MExN): On the occasion of ‘27th Raising Day’ of 3 Corps Lt Gen Dalbir Singh, AVSM, VSM GOC 3 Corps extended warm greetings and best wishes to all ranks, civilians and families of the Spear Corps. He also recalled the contribution by the retired fraternity and their families on this momentous occasion. GOC has appreciated all ranks of the Spear Corps in bringing progress, prosperity and development in North East India. On the occasion, he also paid homage to those valiant soldiers who fearlessly and selflessly made the supreme sacrifice in the call of duty. He stated that their dedication, commitment and sacrifice have enabled Spear Corps to ensure peace and security in its area of responsibility. GOC also urged the highly enlightened people of North East to work towards building peace and prosperity in the region. He asked all ranks of Spear Corps to maintain the highest standards of integrity, discipline and concern for the people of North East India. He wished all ranks and families of Spear Corps ‘Good Luck and God Speed’ on this occasion.
NSCN (Khaplang) cadres nabbed
DIMAPUR, FEBRUARY 11 (MExN): Security forces foiled a possible bid by cadres of NSCN (Khaplang) faction in “disturbing the harmony in the region of Zunheboto district”. A press note issued by IGAR North informed that 21 Assam Rifles apprehended three armed NSCN (Khaplang) cadres at New Colony, Zunheboto Town on 07 February 2012 while they were carrying heavy arms, ammunition and war like stores in public place violating Ceasefire Ground Rules. “21 Assam Rifles thereby averted a major plot of IFC in which many innocent lives could have been lost”, stated the press note while informing that the three apprehended cadres were later handed over to Police Station, Zunheboto.
NSCN (IM) cadres apprehended
Dimapur, February 11 (MExN): Acting on specific intelligence, troops of 9 Assam Rifles carried out search operation in presence of police personnel in general area Yimyu Ward, Mokokchung Dist. During the search operation, six hardcore NSCN (IM) cadres were apprehended along with huge quantity of warlike stores which included two pistols, three revolvers, four hand grenades, ammunition. Recovery of warlike stores from NSCN (IM) cadres is a testimony to the factions support to insurgent activities. Assam Rifles is committed in eradicating insurgency and maintaining peace in Nagaland.
AR donate computers to Shivishe village
Dimapur, February 11 (MExN): As a part of the ongoing Civic Action Projects being undertaken by 21 Assam Rifles under aegis of HQ 7 Sect AR, three Computers with UPS were presented to GB Council Office, Shivishe village, Zunheboto on February 6. A press note issued by the AR stated that Maj D D Chandrakant of 21 Assam Rifles handed over the computers to the Chairman of GB Council, Shivishe village. On addressing the council members and the villagers, he emphasised the importance of computer education in today’s IT environment and benefits of computer data compilation socio-economic for development of the village.
