AYO meeting on February 15

Dimapur, February 12 (MExN):
In view of the forthcoming Sekrenyi celebration scheduled to be held on February 25, Angami Youth Organisation (AYO) has convened a meeting of its Executive council on February 15 in the APO Building, Kohima, at 11:00 am All the executive members of the AYO are requested to attend the meeting positively. Any other issue may also be tabled for discussion during the meeting, informed a press note issued by AYO.

Kohima, February 12 (DIPR):
Home Secretary, Meilemla Pongener (IAS) has informed that in pursuance to the minute of the meeting of the Common Working Group held on January 8, 2012 a briefing session of the State Level Observers for SECC-2011 will be conducted at Nagaland Civil Secretariat Conference Hall by the Census Department on February 13 at 12:00 hours. Therefore all members are requested to attend the briefing session positively.

IMA informs members

Dimapur, February 12 (MExN):
  Indian Medical Association (IMA) Dimapur branch in a press note announced that Prof. Dr. D.K. Ramachandrappa, National President & Dr V.C. Shanmuganandan, National Joint Secretary of Indian Medical Association are visiting Nagaland on official visit with State branch and Local branch at Dimapur. A meeting will be held on February 13, 2012 Monday at 6:00 pm at hotel Tragopan followed by dinner. All the members are requested to attend with fail.

Inauguration of PHC at Razeba

KOHIMA, February 12 (MExN):
The EAC Building, Primary Health Centre Building and Customary Court at Razeba under Phek district will be inaugurated on February 14 at 10:15 AM by Home Minister, Imkong L.Imchen, Minister for Health and Family Welfare, Kuzholuzo (Azo) Nienu, and MLA and Advisor, Art & Culture, Science & Technology, New & Renewable Energy respectively. In a press release issued by President of Razeba Public Organisation, Sanyi Dukru, it has invited all the VCCs, VECs, and leaders from the neighbouring villages to be part of the inaugural function. It has also requested all the members under Razeba range to positively attend the programme.

Longleng DPDB meeting postponed

Dimapur, February 12 (MExN):
Due to unavoidable circumstances, the monthly DPDB meeting for the month of February for Longleng District is postponed to February 24. All members are requested to attend the meeting positively as various important issues to be discussed concerning the district, informed a press note issued by DC Longleng K. Libanthung Lotha.

Phek ginger growers face marketing problem

Kohima | February 12:
Ginger growers from Phek is reportedly facing marketing problem and fear that more than 50,000 metric tonnes of ginger production from Phek area alone will land in waste if something is not done immediately. Talking to The Morung Express, Phek Farmers Club (PFC) chief coordinator Thuputhiyi Venuh said the ginger growers are now looking for an appropriate marketing channel. Last year, a kg of Nadia variety of ginger is sold at Rs. 20- Rs. 24. However, this year there were no buyers even at the rate of Rs. 8 per kg. Thus, ginger growers are facing colossal problem to meet their children admission and other daily requirements. In this, Venuh made a fervent appeal to the state marketing board and APMC Phek district to take necessary measures to rescue the plight of the ginger growers.

Audio Visual Unit to be launched

Kohima, February 12 (DIPR):
Parliamentary Secretary for IPR and Economic & Statistic, R. Tohanba will launch the Rural Mobile Audio Visual Unit of the Department of Information & Public Relations at IPR Citadel, Directorate as the Chief Guest on February 14 at 11:00 am. In the programme, Commissioner & Secretary, IPR, M. K. Mero, ITS will deliver short speech while dedicatory prayer will be pronounced by Assoc. Pastor, KABA, Sentisashi Aier and Director IPR, Imokokba will chair the function and also give the introduction.

Yanthamo BC new church dedication

Kohima, February 12 (MExN):
The Yanthamo Baptist Church under Wokha district is dedicating its new church building on February 19 at 11:00 AM. The church building will be dedicated by Rev. Dr. E. Nrio Ezung, executive secretary KBES. The pastor, Yanthamo Baptist Church requested all Yanthamo citizens residing outside the village to come and attend the dedication programme and be blessed.
 
ENCSU appeals for teacher’s recruitment exam

Dimapur, February 12 (MExN):
Eastern Nagaland College Students’ Union (ENCSU) while acknowledging the government for allotting various post under SSA/RMSA for the students of Eastern Nagaland has appealed in regard to the written examination for teacher’s recruitment in the four district of Tuensang, Mon, Kiphire and Longleng as the exam coincided with university examinations.
ENCSU in a press release issued by general secretary Toshikumba Change and information and Publicity Secretary Lingpongba Change said that most of the aspiring candidates for the post of undergraduate are pursuing academic studies and are “wavering which exam to appear.” The ENCSU on behalf of all the aspiring candidates has appealed to Principal Directorate of School Education (PDSE) and Eastern Naga Students’ Federation (ENSF) to look into the matter and come up with a better solution to reschedule the date of the examination to a convenient date.
 
AYKLY plea to release LADP fund
 
Dimapur, February 12 (MExN): The Anaki Yimsen Kijung Lanu Telongjem (AYKLY) has requested the concern department to release the fund under Local Area Development Programme (LADP) 2011-2012.
AYKLY, president, Lanuneken in a press release said that as per the government approval and allotment, the 41 local area development programme (LADP) 2011-2012 under the department of district planning and machinery cell Mokokchung, the government had already sanctioned a sum of rupees five lakhs to construct a culvert and approach road Sonapur at Anaki Yimsen Village. The word had been allotted to AYKLY under the in charge of Lanuneken, president, Anaki Yimsen Kijung Lanu Telongjem.
As per the work order, accordingly the work has been executed. All the villages under Tuli sub division, 21 A/C has already received the LADP money in the month of December 2011. But till date the AYKLY has not received the money, stated the press release. Therefore, the concern department is requested to release the fund without any further delay, failing which the Anaki Yimsen Kijung Lanu Telongjem has “pledged to pursue the matter till a fund conclusion is arrived at.”
