Community avails free specialized medical care

Dimapur, February 13 (MExN): Department of Health & Family Welfare conducted a free health mela at CHC Tuli on February 11 and 12. The health mela was organized by District Health Society, Mokokchung to provide free specialized medical care to the community, stated a press release issued by Mokokchung NRHM Media Officer, Olemienla.
Altogether 378 patients availed free health treatment including 18 ANC, 7 Cu.T insertions, 15 dental extractions and two minor OT Free laboratory services were also provided where 80 laboratory investigations were done. Patients from nearby villages such as Anaki C, Yajang C, Kangtsung, Aopenzu and Molungyimsen also availed the free treatment. All services of health mela were provided free of cost and free medicines were also distributed. Women availing ANC and Cu.T insertion were also given special package.
The Medical team was lead by Dr. SS Akaba. Deputy CMO, Dr. Moa Senior Dental Surgeon, Dr. Mar Orthopedics, Dr. Wapang Paediatrician, Dr. Bernard Surgeon, Dr. Kilangwapang Medicine, Dr. Sakuyuba Imchen ENT, Dr. Ademla Tinu Gynaecologist, Dr. Takosunep, Dr. Limanaro, Dr. Sentienla, Dr. Molung and Saku Ophthalmic assistant assisted by Nurses and Pharmacists.
The IEC team also conducted Interpersonal communication with pregnant women. Posters and leaflets on different health topics were also distributed. The health Mela was held successfully with the coordination of HCMC members of Mangkolemba and ASHAs. Further the HCMC has also expressed gratitude to the Department of Health & Family Welfare for conducting the health mela.
