Entrepreneurs to organise ‘Youth Expo’ on Feb 25-26

Subsequent upon the declaration by the state government “2012-Year of the Youth Cum Tribal Festivals” a group of successful entrepreneurs including Youth Net, Synergy, Dream Cafe and Young Indians will hit the “Youth Expo” under the theme “Youth Resurgence” during the Angami premier festival, Sekrenyi on February 25 and 26.
Addressing a press conference this afternoon, Additional Chief Secretary, Alemtemshi Jamir said focusing on the interest of the youths the government has sought new ideas to give platform for the youngsters by bringing the successful entrepreneurs to showcase themselves. Already 40 successful entrepreneurs have confirmed their participation for the two days event where stalls will be set up and as the music artist performs, talk show will also take place by the successful entrepreneurs, they said. As an inspiration, school children’s, college students and others will also get the opportunity to interact with the entrepreneurs while also a booklet will be handed out with the content of entrepreneurs status updating more information to the visitors. Since the second day of the festival falls on Sunday, Jamir said Youth service will be held as the saying goes “Work is worship”.
Theja Meru, Coordinator of the Youth Expo acknowledged the government for extending support and “To show off what we have” and extended invitation to all the college students and others to be a part of the festival. His excitement also said about the successful entrepreneurs who will testify and play an inspirational role for the youngsters. Director, YouthNet, Hekani Jakhalu disclosed that government has sanctioned 5 lakhs to organize the youth expo while the same will be carried out in all districts. The synergy group will also conduct raffle draw with exciting prizes like guitar, mobiles and many others, said Kevitsu Doze.
As the Youth Expo converges with the tribal festivals throughout the year, ACS Jamir also said the culmination will take place at the end of the year, during Agri-Expo in Dimapur.
