Rio, Peseyie to inaugurate Khuochiezie traditional gates
Kohima, February 19 (MExN): Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio will inaugurate Khuochiezie traditional gates on February 20 at 10:00 AM. Rio will inaugurate northern gate while Nagaland Legislative Assembly (NLA) speaker Kiyanilie Peseyie will inaugurate southern gate. The formal inauguration of the gate will be followed by Kohima district VDB conference 2012. Chief Minister, NLA speaker including minister for urban development and higher education Dr. Shurhozelie Liezietsu, parliamentary secretary for rural development and SIRD S. Pangnyu Phom and president Kohima District VDB Association will address the conference. The programme will be chaired by V. Sakhrie, commissioner & secretary for rural development while welcome address will be delivered by Kohima deputy commissioner Beiu Angami, who is also the chairman of Kohima District VDBs. Vote of thanks will be proposed by rural development director Metsubo Jamir. Cultural items, feast and technical session will also mark the convention.
Minister Azo to grace folk arts prog
Kohima, February 19 (MExN): Minister for health & family welfare Kuzholuzo (Azo) Nienu will grace a programme on “Promotion of gender equality through folk arts” on February 24 at 10:00 AM at Sekruzu in Phek district. Culture artistes from about 9 to 10 villages of Sekruzu area will be presenting various folk arts during the one day programme. The programme is being organized by the state’s department arts & culture in collaboration with NEZCC Dimapur. This was stated in a release issued by Vikheshe Sumi, deputy director art & culture.
WTC grateful to 41 AR
Dimapur, February 19 (MExN): At this time of the windy and dry season when scarcity of water is a pain in the neck for the Witterians, the authority of 41 Assam Rifles, Wokha and Robin Kikon from Longsa Village freely provided their Water Tanker Vehicle (7500 Ltr.) and Potable Water respectively on February 16, 2012. The press note stated that the College had nothing to give them in return for their act of benevolence but prayed that Almighty God will bless them in abundance. It further conveyed its profound appreciation to Mhonthung Humtsoe, Acting Principal and Lect. S. Ekonthung Ezung, Isaiah Men’s Hostel, Warden for taking much pain and trouble in arranging the water. WTC also acknowledged everyone who had painstakingly taken their part in arranging and providing the “WATER” freely to the College.
