Sazo inaugurates newly created RD Block at Chizami

Chizami, February 20: Parliamentary secretary for social welfare, child & women development Chotisuh Sazo inaugurated a newly created Rural Development Block, BDO office at Chizami this morning. With this, 12 villages will fall under this newly created RD Block.Speaking on the occasion, Sazo thanked Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio and DAN government for giving 3 new RD blocks to Phek district in addition to five existing RD blocks in the district.
“Neiphiu Rio is a dynamic leader, people’s friendly leader and development oriented leader,” said Sazo.
He continued that under his (Rio) leadership, many development activities are taking place all over Nagaland including 17th Chizami Assembly Constituency.
He also appreciated the leadership of Deo Nukhu, an elected representative from 17th A/C including Z. Lohe, political advisor to CM and K.G. Kenye, secretary general NPF, adding that the people of constituency are ‘blessed’ for having such good leaders in the constituency.
Sazo also appreciated rural development department headed by S. Pangnyu Phom, parliamentary secretary for RD, saying that under whose leadership the rural development is expanding very fast in the state.
He said with the creation of 22 new RD blocks in the state, the total strength now stands at 74, which is perhaps the highest RD block in the country in term of population ratio.
Another new RD block at Chetheba will be inaugurated by minister for health & family welfare Kuzholuzo (Azo) Nienu and other at Wozheho, both in Phek district to be inaugurated by S.Pangyu Phom.
Stating that peace is required for all round development, Sazo said that DAN government is carrying out numerous developmental activities across the state under the slogan “Peace for Development and Development for Peace.”
He maintained that developmental activity is possible only when unity and peaceful atmosphere prevails and called upon the people to continue to maintain unity and peace and at the same extend their unflinching cooperation to the government to avail more developmental package.
Referring to the institution of VDB in Nagaland, he said that several schemes and programmes are being extended to the villagers, like IAY, SGSY, grant in aid, MGNREGS etc. in respect of construction of community hall, footstep, drainage etc. In this, he called upon the people to use the fund judiciously and gain maximum benefit from there.
Further, Sazo announced that the government has already approved the opening of new CDPO office at Chizami.
Also speaking on the occasion, Deo Nukhu, adviser art & culture science & technology and new & renewable energy said the formal inauguration of RD block Chizami has done but the process of posting BDO, staff and functioning oh the office is yet to start. In this, he made a fervent appeal to the government to do the needful at the earliest so that development can be brought to the doorstep of the people of the area.
He also thanked Neiphiu Rio, his cabinet colleagues and DAN government for fulfilling the long aspiration of “our people” by giving RD block.
Stating that the new RD block would benefit the people of the area, Nukhu called upon the people to cooperate with the government so as to access the rays of development.
Pfutsero ADC Robert Longchari, Phek DRDA Project director S. Phom, and several others also spoke on the occasion. The function was chaired Chizami SDO (Civil) Renabomo Odyuo while Kekhwengupe Wezah, chairman Adhoc Town Committee Chizami delivered welcome address. Vote of thanks was proposed by Pfutsero BDO Chubaniken Jamir.
