Dimapur Surumi Community fasting

Dimapur, February 24 (MExN):  Fasting, prayer- cum-general meeting of the Dimapur Surumi Community will be held on February 25, 2012 (Saturday) at 7:00 am. In a release, Chairman of the Community, Er.P.Khetoi Awomi, Executive Engineer, PHED (Rural) division, Dimapur requested all its members to attend positively. The meeting will be held at the residence of Banker, Dimapur Surumi Community, Er.Shikato Jakhalu, Executive Engineer (Power).

Governor to grace Sekrenyi 2012

Kohima, February 24 (DIPR): The Angami Public Organisation is celebrating Sekrenyi 2012 with the theme “Surging On” on February 25 at Khuochiezie (Local Ground) Kohima. Nagaland Governor, Nikhil Kumar will grace the festival as chief guest and Presidents of Frontal Naga Tribal Hohos will be as Honoured Guests. According to the programme, Advisor APO, Kekhriengulie Linyü will chair the programme, Rev. Keholeshü Tepa will pronounce the invocation while Nise Meruno will present the ‘Youth Medley’ and President APO, Keneingunyü Sekhose will deliver the Sekrenyi greetings. At 11:00 a.m onward, Indigenous games and cultural presentation will be held at the venue followed by the “Sekrenyi He” and Youthvaganza at 17:00 hrs onward organized by the Music Task Force, Government of Nagaland.

DDGWTU 2nd annual picnic on Feb 25

Dimapur, February 24 (MExN): The Dimapur District Garage Welfare Trade Union (DDGWTU) has informed all its registered owners/members that the 2nd Annual picnic will be held on February 25. A press note issued by Piketo Zhimo, General Secretary, DDGWTU, stated that the registered owners/members are requested to positively attend the picnic without fail and to reach the DDGWTU office by 7 am. The departure for the picnic spot will be at 8:30 am. It further states that all registered garage are requested to remain close on February 25 for the picnic.

Master Trainers in physics at SCERT

Kohima, February 24 (MExN): The valedictory programme of “Master Trainers in Physics for the NE Regions”, organized by NCERT, New Delhi and SCERT Nagaland, will be held at SCERT, Kohima on February 25 at 1 pm. The programme is being organized for the Physics teachers of Higher Secondary Schools of North East region.

NECU GM on Feb 26

Kohima, February 24 (MExN): Nagaland Electrical Contractors’ Union (NECU) has convened a general meeting on February 26 at 11:00 am at Hotel Japfu. A press release issued by its president Kevichülie Chadi and general secretary Vizovolie Nyekha has requested all the registered electrical contractors to attend the meeting positively adding that contractors from outside Kohima will be given traveling allowance, while sitting allowance will be admissible for bonafied member.

ADC & ER Mkg informs

Mokokchung, February 24 (DIPR): The list of amendments to the Draft Electoral Roll for the Constituencies (Wards) of the Mokokchung Municipality has been prepared with reference to the 1st January 2012 as the qualifying date and in accordance with the Nagaland Municipality Act 2001, and the Nagaland Municipal Election Rules 2003 made there under. A copy of the said Roll together with the set of amendments has been published and will be available for inspection at the Office of the ADC & Electoral Registration Officer, Mokokchung, Kesonyu Yhome.

Anti Rabies Vaccination camp held

Longleng, February 24 (DIPR): The department of Veterinary and Animal Husbandry Longleng organized a ‘Rabies awareness cum free Anti Rabies Vaccination’ camp as a preventive measure against rabies diseases at Veterinary Hospital Longleng on February 23.  Around 200 dogs received Anti Rabies Vaccine free of cost and also provided Dog chain to all stray dogs in the town. The program was sponsored by ATMA, Longleng in respond to the Project Director on Animal Disease Monitoring and Surveillance, Bangalore against outbreak of Rabies in Nagaland during February and March 2012.

DC Kohima informs workshop owners

Kohima, February 24 (DIPR): The Deputy Commissioner, Kohima, Bei-u Angami in reiteration to this order NO. REV/141/78 (PT) dated the 10th August 2009, informed all the workshop owners within Kohima Town that parking and repair of vehicles on Government road has been restricted. Henceforth failure to comply would entail immediate arrest of the workshop mechanics, imposition of fines on its owners, and all other actions as deemed fit without any further warning/ notice.

Excise Mobile Squad party conduct raids

Dimapur, February 24 (MExN): A press release issued by the Deputy Commissioner of Excise (Narcotics), Dimapur, stated that the Excise Mobile Squad party conducted raids in hotels and restaurants in and around Dimapur town and seized 160 bottles of assorted liquor. In this connection, 10 accused were arrested and booked under NLTP Act 1989 and the seized articles deposited in the Mobile Squad Malkhana. It further stated that the enforcement units of the department will contemplate to continue checking of such illegal flow of liquor in the town.

HNRDS conducts seminar

Dimapur, February 24 (MExN): Under the National Environment Awareness Campaign 2011-12, the Hema Nkang Rural Development Society (HNRDS) conducted a seminar cum training on conservation of bio-diversity under the theme “Forest for a sustainable livelihood” on January 28 at Jalukie. A press release issued by Samzanyile, President, Hema Nkang Rural Development Society, stated that besides the resource person the seminar was attended by more than 50 participants belonging to different professions.

NCTESU elects new team

Kohima, February 24 (MExN): The Nagaland College of Teacher Education Students’ Union has elected its office bearers on February 20 last. General secretary- Kedoroko Casavi, assistant general secretary- Razoukhrulu, sports secretary- Longthai Angh, assistant sports secretary- Alibo Wotsa, magazine secretary- T. Limawabang, assistant magazine secretary- Musim and Mholumi, class representatives (A)- Hechulo Semy and Aluoou Shuya while M. Alei and Rokali will be the class representatives (B).
