Seminar & workshop on community policing held

Dimapur, June 16 (MExN): DEF Longleng hosted a Seminar cum Workshop on Community Policing at DC Conference Hall, Longleng.  The resource person was DIG (R/NAP) Kohima Toshitsungba Aier, IPS.  
A press note received here stated the resource person gave a comparative analysis with role of community policing being followed in other countries such as Japan.  He called upon the gathering to play a positive role in addressing the policing problems in Naga society.  
He gave a historic perspective of community policing in India as well as Nagaland.  He touched upon the legal perspective also.  The seminar cum workshop was followed by discussion, where the resource person addressed queries of the gathering.
Officers of DEF Longleng, CO 12 IR, along with 12 IR personnel, District Administration officers, officers of other departments, Coy Commander Assam Rifle, Village Council Chairman, Ward Chairman, NGO representatives, media representatives and others  attended the programme.
