Youth get together for peaceful Kohima



A get-together of Kohima Town Colony Youth and Angami Youth Organization held here today at Kisama has been received well by many for coming together to share ideas and opinions to create the state capital Kohima into a peaceful, better and cleaner city to live in.
Nagaland Legislative Assembly (NLA) Speaker Kiyanilie Peseyie while acknowledging the contribution of the youth also asked them to give more efforts to usher peace and security of the people. He assured that the state government is there to support them in whatever activity they undertakes for the welfare and common interest of the state capital.

Peseyie asserted that only through unity and peace, academic study, business activity and security of the common people would come about. Appreciating the youth for coming together, he wishes to see more such meetings in the coming day as well, saying that such platforms would bring about unity and get the youth more closer to confront various issues and challenges ahead.
MLA Dr. Nicky Kire challenged the youth to work hand in hand together, adding that such meeting provides space to the youth to know one another and unitedly work for the betterment of the denizens.
He was hopeful that a better Kohima, safer and cleaner Kohima will be emerged from such gathering, where the denizens will be able to work even late hour without any fear.

Minister for Urban Development Dr. Shurhozelie Liezietsu asserted that the youth have vital role to play and asked them to come together, plan together for Kohima city and contribute their best for the betterment of the state capital in the areas of traffic, sanitation and law & order situation.
He said Kohima being the state capital, has become a centre of all activities, for which everyone irrespective of tribe, district or states have equal partner of Kohima city.

In this, the minister called for the need of hour to have a sense of belongingness and oneness.
AYO President Khrielievi Chusi said “ we are not gathered here today to celebrate our achievements nor to expose our activities but we are here today to come more closer with other another, building better coordination with leaders, head of districts and law enforcing agency, to encourage our colony members that the coordination of AYO and youth organizations can made a change.”
Chusi said that the good initiative sown today should prolong and strengthen our unity as “United we stand divided we fall.” Later, in tug of war, Kitsubozou youth stood first position while PR Hill youth stood second position. Lerie and Naga Bazar youth were the joint holder of third place.
