BYWCD observes Intl Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking
Dimapur, June 26 (MExN): Bethesda Youth Welfare Centre, FIDU DIC observed the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking on June 26, 2012 basing on the theme “Global action for healthy communities without drug”.
A press note issued to the media stated that the program was conducted at FIDU DIC westyard at 2:00 pm. Haiyale Kath, vice president of Exotic Echo was the special guest for the program and Enoch, Project Coordinator, SCENEI-CSD BYWCD delivered the message based on the theme, “Global action for healthy communities without drug”. He stated that drug use in Nagaland started in the early part of 1980’s during which majority of the people do not know or identify who were the drug users and for which the pharmaceutical drugs were freely purchased from any pharmacies. He also stressed on the issues of women on drug, sex and the associated problems involved.
The note also mentioned that the programme was followed by distribution of nutritional support to FIDUs and PMIs. Later, word of encouragement was shared by guest of honor Haiyale Kath. The participants were blessed hearing the testimony shared by Bichano and Asang. Altogether, there were 35 participants attended the program and 15 clients received the nutritional support.
