Gorkha org observe foundation day
Dimapur, June 30 (MExN): The 1st foundation day programme of Gorkha Samaj Kuda village was held today, in Kuda village youth hall with president of the Naga Council of Dimapur Savi Liegise and principal of North Town Hr Sec School in Chumukedima, BB Chetri as the chief guests.
Savi Liegise said Dimapur is a hub of various cultures and communities but what matters is unity. He urged the gathering that the Gorkha or Nepali in Nagaland was never considered outsiders but ‘treated as our own brothers and sisters is all because of the faithfulness, integrity and sincerity’ they have. The public leader urged the Gorkha community to preserve these qualities, a press release from Rupak Chetri informed.
Also speaking at the event, BB Chetri said society can run on education. ‘Without education we are empty handed,’ he said. The school principal shared his dreams and urged the gathering to invest in education. He also urged for a school that would be run by the community’s leaders ‘where our younger generation can get employed and we can teach all the amenities of the life as well as our language, culture which is much important.’
